Brownies Take Over the Tracks - 3/5/10 As part of our Cententary Celebrations Brownies from 1st Strood joined 100's of Brownies in London, eager to board the 'Oliver Cromwell' steam train to Windsor. Our journey began by travelling to London on the train. Once there we boarded the steam train on our way to Windsor. We were even entertained during the journey by jugglers who walked through the carriages. Once we arrived in Windsor we spent the day exploring the town. We went on a boat trip down the river and then met up with lots of other Brownies from our Region, in Europe's largest marquee. There we were entertained by Robin Hood and his Merry Men, when they held jousting matches with the Sheriff of Nottingham and his men. We also had a a falconry display. The journey home was a much quieter affair, as most of us fell asleep after such a fun packed day out. See below

Brownie & Guide BBQ The girls enjoyed barbecuing their food and even managed to dodge the rain. Thank you to the parents who stayed behind to help. |
Funtenary WeekendOur Brownies enjoyed a fun packed weekend with lots of other Brownies from around London and the South East. The whole of Butlins was taken over by Brownies. There was so much to do that a weekend just wasn't enough time to do it all in, although we had a great time trying! We enjoyed the Butlins' activities, along with lots of extras provided by Guiders. After such an action packed weekend, most of us slept on the way home. |
